Tiny Features
I continue to be amazed at how, anatomically speaking, Logan is simply a miniature adult. Virtually every feature — from his tiny toenails to his soft, pliable ears — is already perfectly formed.
There are so many other areas where Logan will develop in radical ways — muscle control and language, among others — but his body itself is pretty much set.
Over the course of her pregnancy, Leah received weekly e-mails from some baby website that explained how big the baby was at that point and what parts had already formed. I was constantly amazed at how the complex systems of a human formed so quickly and so completely.
Throughout those nine months and now the first two weeks of Logan’s life out in the world, I’ve been reminded of the words of Jeremiah:
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you.” (Jeremiah 1:5, ESV)
